Alajeró Cliffs

The Alajeró Cliffs Site of Scientific Interest is a space of difficult access from land and remarkable beauty from the sea. They constitute a representative and well-preserved geomorphological unit, as well as a singular element of the landscape, where biological values of first rank converge. The main plant species found are the tabaiba (Euphorbia berthelotii), the balo (Plocama pendula) and occasionally some cardones (Euphorbia canariensis).

La Curva del Queso Viewpoint

According to tradition, it was in the Baja del Secreto, on the coast of Valle Gran Rey, where the plan to execute Hernán Peraza, Count of La Gomera, was devised. Since the mid-15th century, the Peraza family had taken possession of the island.

Barranco de La Palmita Viewpoint

You are next to Garajonay National Park Visitor Center, in the northern foothills of a high plateau that occupies the entire central sector of the island. You may have noticed that here we do not find the gigantic ravines that characterize Colombina Island. The surrounding territory has a much gentler relief than the rest of La Gomera, with an altitude always above 600 meters.

Mirador del Almendrillo o de Vallehermoso

From this viewpoint you can get the best views of Vallehermoso and its hillsides. It’s the biggest basin in La Gomera. At the bottom, you will find the village of Vallehermoso, lined with its terraced farms. The village looks just like a painting, with the Roque Cano looming over it. It’s such a calming place.

San Bartolomé Old Town

Formerly known as Ajei (small village), San Bartolomé is one of the smallest municipalities of Lanzarote and one of the most unique, as it embodies the two faces of Lanzarote. To the north, there are fields of crops, while to the south you can see the volcanic origins of the Canary Islands. The village has several monuments that are worth a visit: the Casa Palacio del Mayor Guerra, declared a historical artistic monument, or the Casa Ajei, a beautiful example of the popular rural architecture of the time.

El Ingenio Viewpoint

This lookout point is one of the vantage points from which to contemplate the important basin of the Tirajana Ravine. The Canary Island palm tree (Phoenix canariensis), of crucial importance in the traditional culture of Tirajana, stands out in the landscape and is directly related to its handicrafts. Large specimens, mixed with olive trees, form patches of vegetation that enable us to imagine a past in which the natural environment was gradually transformed by humans in order to find the necessary means for subsistence.

El Guriete Viewpoint

It is located in the natural area of Guriete, which is accessed by the GC-500 road. The landscape from this vantage point is harsh, abrupt, a ravine wedged between two steep ridges. On one side are those of Guriete and Los Cuchillos and on the other, to the south, the Amurga massif. The palm groves are a highlight.
