Puntagorda Market

All markets are linked to the land and therefore to ecology. However, very few can boast award-winning certified organic produce. The Puntagorda market in the north of La Palma can do just that. It is also located in a fantastic spot next to the El Fayal forest, with tables, a barbecue area and a children’s playground. A wonderful place only two kilometres away from the town, that is ideal for an enjoyable, family weekend.

Epina

This hamlet was traditionally known for growing fruits and vegetables. It is made up of dozens of houses, many of which are made of stone and mud with Arabic tiles and gable roofs, more than 200 years old and well preserved. Although the hamlet is practically uninhabited, some 40 years ago there were more than 100 people living here. A few metres above the hamlet we find the famous Chorros de Epina, legendary water springs that are a very important part of the island’s culture. In this area we also find the Hermitage of San Isidro, the feast day of which is celebrated on 15 May.
