Located in the north of the island of Tenerife, Garachico offers visitors the opportunity to explore one of the oldest villages in the Canary Islands. Founded at the end of the 15th Century by a Genoese banker, it was a key trading port for commercial traffic between Europe and the Spanish colonies in the Americas. Destroyed in 1706 by a volcanic eruption, visitors can now walk through Garachico's peaceful squares and along its pedestrianised streets near the seafront. The famous natural monument, the rock of Garachico, can be seen just off the coast.

In the south of Fuerteventura, in front of the Jandia lighthouse, a spectacular enclave known as the Veril Grande can be found that is perfect for divers of all levels. At a depth of 20 metres, the top of the wall drops vertically to about 40 metres and hidden species like bream, black eels, stingrays and angel sharks emerge. Just before reaching the shelf, garden eels can also be seen. Occasionally, large deep-sea fish like whale sharks and giant devil rays have been sighted.

The pretty mountains glimpsed from the road up to Fataga elevate this village above the merely picturesque. Its white houses and narrow lanes, all well-preserved and full of flowers, along with the surrounding valleys, pine forests and palm groves, mean that Fataga is one of the island’s benighted spots.

Located at the foot of the Tamadaba cliffs in the foothills of the Agaete Valley in northwest Gran Canaria, Bodegas Los Berrazales produces its wines on the La Laja farm also known for its orange and coffee plantations. Here the Lugo-Jorge family run a winery based on the traditional cultivation of the local lístan negro grape. They make red, rosé and white wines both dry and semi sec.

Built from the remains of an old teacher’s house, the Wine Museum of La Palma takes visitors on a trip through the history of wine making in La Palma from the 16th Century to the present day. The museum, located in Los Llanos de Aridane, includes an exhibition of the agricultural tools used in the past and texts and documents on crop growth, grape varieties and the stages of production from vine to glass.

The little-known Guiguán Viewpoint stands in the town of Tinajo, near the Los Volcanes Natural Park. The views it affords of the Caldera de Guiguán are dominated by small fields of local crops, areas covered with sand and walls made of volcanic rock. Moreover, the viewpoint connects to the trail that runs around the interior of the volcanic cone: the perfect opportunity to observe the island’s natural environment from up close.

This viewpoint, also known as the Malpaso Viewpoint, offers an incredible panoramic view over the Atlantic Ocean, the Corona Volcano and the village of Haria. The viewpoint reopened to the public in September 2021 after the completion of a renovation project which started in 1966. The space was opened out onto a double balcony from where you can admire the thousands of palm trees of Haria and the Temisa Valley that leads into Tabayesco.
