El Ancón beach

In the summer months, there are few walks along the coast of northern Tenerife that are so enjoyable, with such stunning views and with such a delightful destination. It may be smaller, but El Ancón beach in La Orotava, is by no means inferior to its adjacent sister beach, Los Patos. Located in the protected area of El Rincón, the walk down to its black volcanic sand is an incredible experience, passing through banana plantations, cliffs and the vineyards of the famous Malvasia wine. The end reward is a wonderfully refreshing dip in the ocean.

Antequera beach

Anaga Rural Park, in the north-east of Tenerife, is blessed with numerous places for swimming. Antequera beach, owing to its difficult accessibility on foot, maintains its reputation as a naturist’s paradise, with beautiful scenery and wonderful views; although many of its swimmers arrive at its golden volcanic sand via a pleasant boat trip. Either way, the calm seas, especially in the summer months, make a trip to this special unspoilt beach highly recommendable.

The volcanic rocks that flank the beach make this an excellent spot for snorkelling or scuba-diving to discover fascinating marine life.

Papagayo Beach

In the south of Lanzarote is one of the most popular beaches of the island, Papagayo, a cove of white sand, reduced size and great beauty.
