Morro Jable beach

An exotic beach near excellent shopping facilities in Fuerteventura

In the large tourist area of Morro Jable, in the south of Fuerteventura, you will find a huge white sand beach with tranquil waters, shimmering shades of turquoise and emerald. This is Morro Jable beach and it stretches from Las Gaviotas beach in the north to the centre of the coastal town of Morro Jable, in the south. Running alongside the kilometres-long beach is an avenue with excellent shopping facilities and a view of the emblematic Morro Jable lighthouse, standing out from the sea.

Four kilometres of tourist beach beside the Jandía salt marsh

The Morro Jable beach extends for four kilometres and is bordered by an enormous avenue with shops, leisure areas and restaurants, and the Jandía salt marsh, an 'Area of Scientific Interest' for the conservation of a scarce plant in the Canary Islands that is resistant to salt water. A tourist beach with lifeguards, sunbeds and parasols for hire, small beach bars and several areas for water sports such as surfing or canoeing. The best way to enjoy this beach? Stay in a hotel nearby to spend a blissful day out at the beach, and then finish off with a quiet dinner beside the sea as the sun sets.

Sustainability
Sostenibilidad
  • Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats.
  • Do not throw any waste or other objects into the sea.
  • Respect the animals. Do not bother them or feed them. If you see an injured specimen, you can call the emergency number: 112. Do not pick flowers or plants from the environment.
  • Do not pick up or take away stones or any other item from the natural environment. And do not move them to pile them up into sadly famous 'towers'.
  • Do not use soap or gel in the showers located at the entrance to the beach.
  • Try to use ocean-friendly sun creams.
  • Pets are prohibited at most beaches. Make sure you can take them beforehand.
  • Try not to alter the peace of the environment with excessive noise (loud music, yelling, etc.) or activities that might be bothersome, such as ball games.
