Charco Azul

Charco Azul is one of the most well-known bathing areas on the island of El Hierro. Formed by ancient volcanic lava flows, this group of natural pools offers a sheltered space from the Atlantic Ocean, where the water remains calm most of the time and allows swimming in a distinctive setting. Located in the El Golfo area, a valley shaped by steep cliffs and volcanic landscapes, Charco Azul combines nature with respectful human adaptation. Walkways, wooden sunbathing areas and access points make it easier to visit without altering the character of the place.
