Los Giles

This route is situated in the north of Gran Canaria. It starts in Tamaraceite, taking off into a loop past Los Giles on bigger roads and easy dirt trails. Here you have views of Confital and Las Palmas before heading back up to San Lorenzo passing houses and bigger roads. From San Lorenzo the trails get greener, rougher and dirtier - following the ravine of Jacomar until arriving at an ascent. This ascent takes you up and gives you amazing 360 degree views of San Lorenzo. The route does include a shorter scrambling part; once you make it up this climb you have easy trails taking you back to Tamaraceite. This is a beautiful route to run at sunset.

La Caleta Pools

In the municipality of Valverde, in the north-east of El Hierro, we find the La Caleta natural pools: a swimming area that is perfect for diving into spectacular, crystal-clear water. Next to the pools are some interesting archaeological sites with ancient carvings. There are several panels written in Libyco-Berber characters. Libyco-Berber was the language spoken by the ancient settlers of Canary Islands. In this delightful natural environment, visitors can enjoy the large saltwater pools with steps leading directly down to the sea. A swim in La Caleta is a truly unforgettable experience.
