Ermita de las Nieves Viewpoint

One big attraction on Lanzarote is Ermita de las Nieves Viewpoint, a nature spot with views of the majestic volcanic outline of the Chinijo Archipelago and Famara beach. Located at an altitude of 650 metres, one of the highest points on the island, along with the chapel that lends its name to the viewpoint. The latter was originally built in 1427 in honour of the island’s patron saint, Our Lady of Las Nieves. Barely a century later it was pillaged and destroyed by pirates. Nowadays, people take part in a pilgrimage leading up to honour the saint, although the chapel was fully reconstructed in 1966.

Los Hervideros Viewpoint

"Los Hervideros consists of some volcanic caves located on the south-western coast of Lanzarote. The crashing of the waves against the cliffs and the way the water swirls between the rocky cavities results in a living landscape that is full of colour, especially at high tide. This phenomenon gives its name to the viewpoint itself, as the water seems to boil up from the rocks (Hervidero comes from the Spanish verb hervir, to boil). To visit them, you have to go down the steps and the designated paths leading to the different balconies. If the water is rough, we recommend you take some minimal safety measures, especially if you are with children."
