The Acclimatisation Gardens of La Orotava, in Puerto de la Cruz, is one of the best places in the north of Tenerife to spend time embracing nature. Plant lovers will discover a huge variety of plants and flowers, particularly of tropical origin: in some areas visitors will really feel like they are in a jungle. Also known by the name of Botanical Garden of Puerto de la Cruz (Jardín Botánico de Puerto de la Cruz), it was established over 200 years ago and is definitely worth a visit.

The César Manrique Foundation is located in the centre of Lanzarote, in the house known as Taro de Tahiche. A painter, architect and sculptor, it was Manrique’s brainchild to make this island the most beautiful of all. This building, constructed on five volcanic bubbles, since converted into rooms, is an example of the artist’s own style of architecture. Here is where the visitor can best understand how Lanzarote was transformed, mixing art with nature while at the same time respecting the landscape and the traditions of the island.

This spectacular viewpoint is in the far west of Gran Canaria and hangs over the sea at the top of a steep cliiff edge with spectacular views out over the Atlantic Ocean. From the viewpoint you get a clear view of a zigzag wall of sea cliffs called the “Dragon’s Tail”. El Río viewpoint, in the north of Lanzarote, is a work of art located at the top of an imposing cliff. Standing at the wide railing and looking northwards, three small islets can be seen - the Chinijo archipelago - separated from Lanzarote by the strait from which the viewpoint takes its name. The biggest of the islets is La Graciosa, which boasts perfect volcanic cones and a melting pot of ochres and beiges. The combination of islets, sea, sky and sheer depth of the cliff transmits amplitude and freedom.

The Time Viewpoint overlooks one of the most spectacular views on the island of La Palma: the vast valley of Aridane, covered by banana plantations and cut by the deep gorge of Las Angustias, which ends in the charming port of Tazacorte. On a clear day, the island of El Hierro can be seen. This viewpoint, located 700 metrers above sea level, is on the LP-1 road, between the towns of Los Llanos de Aridane and Puntagorda: an ideal place to recharge on a car journey over the western side of La Palma.
