Caldera de Bandama

This crater to walk along is situated between the municipalities of Santa Brigida, Telde and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The seaward route through Caldera de Bandama goes between the ravines of Las Goteras and Guiniguada. This area of enormous natural richness was formed five thousand years ago along with the ancient volcano Pico de Bandama. The crater is 216 metres deep, 574 metres high and 1,000 metres wide. Along with its geological value the archaeological site of Cueva de los Canarios, which the ancient settlers used as a granary for storing harvests and food is of great interest.

Ruta de las Presas

Near Mogán, in the interior of Gran Canaria, there is a trekking route which goes through the Nublo Rural Park and Pilancones Natural Park. This 12.2 kilometre circular walk goes along dirt tracks, paths and roads and is suitable for trekkers with a degree of experience. It starts in Degollada de Cruz Grande and goes through a wonderful pine forest and onto the Soria dam, the biggest on the island. It also goes along impressive volcanic formations in the area of Cañada del Almácigo.

Kitesurfing in Jameos del Agua

In the north of Lanzarote we find the Jameos del Agua kitesurfing spot in the middle of a most impressive volcanic landscape. This spot is only recommended for experienced kitesurfers and although it can be enjoyed all year round, it is in spring and summer that conditions are optimum for kitesurfing. The winds in this spot blow in a NE direction, forming a long fast left hand wave, hollow at some points and which can reach up to three metres in height.

Kitesurf on El Burro beach

The kitesurfing spot of Playa del Burro is situated in Corralejo, in the north-east of Fuerteventura. It’s the perfect location during the summer, when the north-easterly trade winds are more frequent and more consistent. While a certain amount of experience is necessary, the beach area offers good conditions for learning. The waves generally break to the left and are short, making them perfect for those who enjoy the jumping categories. There is a friendly, relaxed vibe on El Burro beach.
