Lanzarote Aquarium

In Costa Teguise, in the east of the island, you will have the chance to swim with sharks. Lanzarote Aquarium offers you the opportunity to dive with a one metre eighty centimetre long nurse shark and several bamboo sharks. It’s a once in a lifetime experience to dive with these species given that it is almost impossible to come across them in open seas. This activity is always carried out under the strict supervision of experts, and without the need for any previous preparation or qualifications.

Jungle Park

Jungle Park, in the south of Tenerife, has the most famous falconry show in the Canary Islands, where eagles and hawks fly down to ground level almost touching the heads of the audience. Little ones can feed and pet a variety of wild birds. It’s a unique place where visitors are able to stroll peacefully amongst exotic animals and birds of prey – a genuine jungle just a stone’s throw from the town of Los Cristianos in Arona.

Embarcadero del Faro de Orchilla

The Embarcadero del Faro de Orchilla (Jetty of the Orchilla Lighthouse) is the head of a traditional jetty that was left as a witness to the old shipping connections that were made at the time when the Orchilla Lighthouse was built. Today it is a pleasant bathing spot located in an isolated area at the northern end of the Mar de las Calmas. This remote spot is located at the southernmost and westernmost point of Spain. The Orchilla Lighthouse was of great value in ancient cartography, as it lies on the Greenwich Meridian. It is the most important civil monument on the island of El Hierro.

Risco Caído Archaeological Site

The Risco Caído Archaeological Site, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, includes a series of ceremonial, residential, and agricultural-livestock caves. In one of the caves, sunbeams enter through an upper window, illuminating the western wall enigmatically and signalling sunrise from the Summer Solstice through the Autumn Solstice. In fact, UNESCO has included it among its Archaeoastronomy sites.
