Located in the north-east of Fuerteventura, the El Jablito beach is an ideal dive site for beginners and for those looking for a calm and relaxing diving experience. With a maximum depth of fifteen metres, El Jablito is protected from currents by the shape of the land, ensuring that is possible to dive all year round. The spot can be accessed from the beach, where the water is shallow and the seabed is a mixture of sandy and rocky areas.

For both experienced and beginner divers who want to discover the 'nightlife' of the island of El Hierro, the southern locality of La Restinga is an excellent dive spot. The depths around the entrance to the fishing port of La Restinga have great visibility and the marine life there is ideal for night dives. Its rocky bottom is home to kaleidoscopic angel fish, multi-coloured lobsters and sand eels with their penetrating gaze.

In the south of Tenerife, the more experienced divers have a demanding dive at a maximum of 45 metres, one which has wonderful seascapes of underwater ravines, arches, caves and sand banks and fascinating marine life. San Miguel begins with a crossing from Los Cristianos or Las Galletas to La Punta de Rasca. After a descent of 28 metres along a cable, the diver begins a route dominated by strong currents and memorable sights.

The volcanic origin of the Canary Islands means that diving in its waters has unusually shaped rocky seascapes in its depths. This is the case of Bajón del Río; at a depth of 18 metres there is a bottom of golden sand from which parasol shaped volcanic crags several metres high emerge. These “mushrooms” are a refuge for a unique biodiversity. This spot located to the north of the island of Fuerteventura, in the middle of the strait which separates it from the small islet of Lobos, is only five minutes away by boat from the port of Corralejo.

The El Cabron shore is a diving hotspot on the east coast of Gran Canaria. With highly variable features and rich biodiversity it takes more than one dive to appreciate El Cabrón. The coast consists of a wide rock platform dropping off gently to a depth of nine metres, a shelf full of crevices and a sandy bottom at 23 metres. The range of habitats and richness of life here is spectacular.

Veril de Playa is the star diving spot on the island of Lanzarote. Just across from the southern tourist resort of Puerto del Carmen is the big sloping sand platform which ends in a cliff which goes from 15 to 40 metres in depth and which has shelves, caves and small hollows. This coast of crystal clear and usually calm waters is easily accessible on foot and the diver can choose various options depending on the group involved, experience and the day’s itinerary.

La Catedral is a rocky shelf with arches, vaults and caves, where you’ll find a 20-metre-high cave inside. This imposing volcano body, reminiscent of the interior of a cathedral, is located just five minutes by boat from Puerto de la Cruz in the north of the island of Tenerife. Dives are adaptable to all levels and start with a 20-metre descent and an exploration of the intricate topography of the area, reaching depths of 45 metres.

The wreck of the DC-3 called Zorro 33 dates back to 1971 and is off the southeast coast of Gran Canaria close to the island’s airport. It’s a highly attractive dive site for advanced divers. The plane broke into three parts when it crashed and these are now covered in marine life, such as sea slugs, and surrounded by eagle rays and huge schools of white trevally. Combined with the visual impact of the plane lying in 29 metres of water they make for a memorable dive.

The small town of Tabaiba is the ideal place for a wreck dive, just a short swim away from the coast. The wreck in Tabaiba is 35 metres long and is called the 'El Peñon': it was sunk as an artificial reef on the north-east coast of Tenerife in 2006 to enrich the marine life of the area and to promote scuba diving. The boat is heeled thirty degrees to starboard at a maximum depth of 32 metres. Inside the wreck are live polyps, octopus and some large moray eels, famous amongst divers.
