It is part of a triangular mountain range between the Barranco de El Riachuelo, Barranco Tenisca, Barranco de las Angustias and the southern side of the Caldera de Taburiente. You need to follow the PR LP 13.3 path. There is a steep incline but you will be rewarded with spectacular views once you reach the peak. You can see the outstanding insular landscape and a panoramic view of the Caldera de Taburiente National Park, the Ruta de los Volcanes and the Valle de Aridane.

Punta Larga Beach

Like most other beaches in the area, Punta Larga is a small beach made up of black sand. It was created after three sections of lava flowed into the ocean. The bay is just over 100 metres in length. Access is easy, and the tide isn’t normally that strong which means it’s a good spot for all the family.

El Serradero, Puerto de Santo Domingo Viewpoint

This viewpoint offers one of the best views of La Palma. You can see a gorgeous view of the craggy Villa de Garafía coastline – Roque Santo Domingo, Roque de las Tabaibas and Roque del Guincho – and the vast Atlantic Ocean. A remote, secluded place where you can let yourself wander, switch off and admire the volcanic landscape of La Palma. You will need to drive along a windy road.

Mirador Barranco de Garome

The Mirador del Barranco de Garome offers a panoramic view of the valley of the same name, which forms a natural border between Puntagorda and Tijarafe. The valley is surrounded by pine forests. The climb is not suitable for people who suffer from vertigo as it drops from 2,200 metres to ground level in just 10 kilometres. We really recommend going to watch the sunset where you can admire the incredible colours and hues that glisten off the sea in the distance. The viewpoint is on the LP-1 road, after the Tinizara neighbourhood in the north of the town, so you can reach it by car.

La Crestería

This is one of La Palma’s quintessential volcanic trails, perfect for mountain lovers. It runs along the entire ridge of the Caldera de Taburiente, starting at the Roque de los Muchachos and ending at the Pico de la Nieve, although different variations are possible, such as finishing at the Refugio del Pilar. It offers impressive views overlooking the Caldera de Taburiente National Park. You can admire the southern slope on one side and the northern slope on the other. Along the way, near the Pico de la Sabina, you can see a tagoror, a meeting place for the Auaritas, the first settlers of the island, as this area was of great importance for the them. The interesting pine trees with their original shapes are not to be missed along the way.

Mesa del Mar natural pools

"It is the ideal place to sunbathe and enjoy a peaceful saltwater bath. Located on the coast of Tacoronte, these natural pools are very popular among the residents of the municipality who especially visit them during the summer months. This small tourist center has two swimming pools, one of which is only filled during the summer months and the other is available all year round. The area is easy to access and has parking, although you must be careful with the road as it goes down the mountainside and has quite steep curves."

Puddles next to the Plaza of Puerto Santiago and Las Bajas

The whimsical shapes of the lava flow when it reaches the sea have created this small bay sheltered from the waves. At low tide it is an idyllic place with crystal clear waters, where you can take a dip among the beautiful volcanic formations. The pool is located on the coast of Puerto Santiago, Santiago del Teide, behind the Barceló hotel and you will find a staircase that facilitates access. You can enjoy a very pleasant walk along the coast with spectacular scenery and sunsets. You should exercise extreme caution when there are heavy swells and high tides.
