La Palma’s Charco Azul

The Charco Azul in La Palma offers visitors a different, unique way to enjoy the sea. Its popularity has grown following a recent makeover, in fact it was awarded an international prize in 2013 for its new services. Based in San Andrés y Sauces, one of the prettiest boroughs in the north of the island, it's a perfect setting to enjoy a day of sea and sun with the family, in stark contrast to the rich greenery of the nearby laurisilva, a prehistoric forest of great importance.

You can also swim in the open sea, waves permitting. More than enough reasons to visit this area of El Mocanal in Valverde, the island capital.
