Playa del Duque

Bentayga Winery

Bentayga Winery is located in the wonderful surroundings of the Nublo Rural Park, a protected nature area at the top of the island that also forms part of the Gran Canaria Biosphere Reserve. At an altitude of more than 1000 metres, the wines are aged in a natural stone cave, where the wine is stored in natural conditions that are optimal for temperature and humidity. The result are exclusive and unique red and white wines that share the minerality of the volcanic earth they come from.

Pozo de las Calcosas

In the north of El Hierro you will come across one of the most charming hamlets in the island for its unique characteristics. This charm comes from way the houses were built, known locally in El Hierro as “casas pajeros” (straw houses) with walls of bare volcanic rock and thatched roofs made from bundles of rye. The ethnographic value of Pozo de las Calcosas is without doubt; it is an open air museum showcasing the architectural traditions of El Hierro.

The historical town of Teguise

Situated in the north east of the island of Lanzarote, the town of Teguise was one of the first settlements established in the Canary Islands. Capital of Lanzarote until 1847, it maintains a significant number of buildings of great historical and artistic value. Most noteworthy are the Castillo de Santa Bárbara ( Saint Barbara’s castle), now the Pirate Museum, the Palacio Spinola (Spinola Palace) located in a majestic XVIII century house, the ancient church of Guadalupe and San Francisco’s convent (Saint Francis’ convent).

El Golfo

In the east of Lanzarote and on the Atlantic shore is El Golfo, a small fishing village in the Natural Park of Los Volcanes. Surrounded by the spectacular lavas of the 1730 -1736 eruptions, is a charming settlement of Lanzarote style fishing houses, with whitewashed walls and flat roofs within narrow streets leading down to the picture postcard scene of boats moored on the beach of black sand.
