Village of San Bartolomé de Tirajana

The midlands and highlands of San Bartolomé de Tirajana offer rugged landscapes and impressive ravines such as those of Tirajana and Arguineguín, which define the east and west sides of the municipality. Visitors will also be impressed by the Fataga, Los Vicentes, La Data and Chamoriscan ravines, which flow into Maspalomas. In the old part of the village, known as Tunte, stands the Church of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, consecrated in 1922. This church has a basilica floor plan divided into three naves. The High Altarpiece stands out, a work created by the master artist Lino Feo Ramos in 1922. The effigy of San Bartolomé, acquired between 1783 and 1787, sits in the central niche of the altarpiece.

Santa Brígida Old Town

The old town of Santa Brígida is one of the most charming places on the island. In 1525, a chapel was founded on the site of the current parish church. The exterior of the current church has neo-Gothic features, and the interior is similar to that of many churches on the island, with three naves of equal height, barrel-vaulted ceilings and severe characteristics that are typical of the former structure which burnt down. You can also visit the Guiniguada Farm Park next to the Palmeral de Satautejo.

Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Los Reyes

The Chapel of Our Lady of the Kings is in the the Natural Park of La Dehesa, the patron saint of the island, comfort and veneration of the people of Herreño. Its white walls among the grove, its cisterns for those who come thirsty, the caves surrounding your stay and the passing mist make this a magical place. The story goes that the Virgin of the Kings miraculously supplied rainwater to the inhabitants of the island during one of the worst periods of drought ever experienced on the island. Since then, every four years and in her honor, there is celebrated Bajada de la Virgen de los Reyes, the island's popular festival par excellence.
