Montaña Arena beach

Located to the south of Gran Canaria, Montaña Arena beach is one of the few virgin spots around. It’s a favourite place for locals who come to get away from the crowds. The sand is very fine and the water is transparent. Unfortunately because access to the water is a little challenging it’s not a recommended place for families.

Museo y Parque Etnográfico Pinolere

This museum, inaugurated in 2002, is located in a suburb of the Villa de La Orotava, Pinolere, and its 3,000 square meter facilities recreate different aspects of the architectural, agricultural, environmental and socio-cultural landscape characteristic of the midlands of the Orotava Valley. The center has a threshing floor, different earthen houses, corrals with chickens and rabbits, a vegetable garden with medicinal plants and its characteristic straw houses or haystacks, traditional constructions used as dwellings, now used as exhibition halls. A meticulous reproduction of a traditional "sale" is another of its contents of interest.

La Cilla Grain Museum

The Grain Museum in is located in the Casa de La Cilla, in La Oliva, in the north of Fuerteventura. This old stone building of great historic value was restored to house this museum. Visitors can learn about the island’s farming history and will be amazed by the importance that cereals had in the life of Fuerteventura. This interesting tour—which includes a photography exhibition that helps us to better understand the work done in the fields—shows how factors such as overgrazing helped form the island’s current austere landscape.

Cumbres del Norte o Chipeque Viewpoint

Take your time contemplating the fresh greenery of the Orotava Valley and if the sea of clouds prevents you from seeing the treasure below, take the opportunity of enjoying its spectacular white mantle or look up at the sky in search of the Teide. Behind, as if under its shadow, you will find the Teno Massif and in the background the unmistakable silhouette of the island of La Palma.

Roque de Bentayga Viewpoint

The beautiful landscapes of the Tejeda municipality hide several stone giants, including the Roque Bentayga. From a scenic point of view, this place offers us a unique show, which Unamuno defined as “a petrified storm.” The Tejeda canyon, often called the Grand canyon, stuns when seen from a central perspective, from the very heart of the hydrographic basin. This rock is part of the Protected Natural Spaces Network.

Piedra de La Rosa Viewpoint

You are at a lookout point composed of two distinct parts. The first, facing west, offers privileged views of the Teide and La Palma, whose silhouette can be seen on clear days. The second part is composed by a curious vision of volcanic form with the appearance of a rose that will not fail to make an impact. To see the object it is necessary to access a passage by foot that crosses the road underneath leading to the other side of the road. From a small parking lot downhill you can access directly to "La Rosa." Highly recommended.

Llanos del Jable Viewpoint

In the upper part of El Paso, at 1,200 meters above sea level, the Llanos del Jable lookout point offers splendid views of the Aridane Valley during the day, with the ancient volcano of Montaña Quemada in the foreground. At night, this area of La Palma – an island that is recognized as a Starlight Reserve due to the quality of its sky – is a wonderful natural balcony to contemplate unique panoramic views of the sky. The lookout point has an information panel and ample parking, although it lacks nearby services. It is advisable to bring warm clothes.

Las Peñitas Viewpoint

From the viewpoint at Las Peñitas in Betancuria, an incredible view is laid out before you: a green oasis in the middle of the desert. The underground river that flows beneath the Las Peñitas ravine emerges through a man-made dam and creates a small lake that is dotted with native plants. The open esplanade of this viewpoint is the perfect stop-off when taking a drive through the interior of Fuerteventura and enjoying this beautiful, surprising landscape.
