Vallebrón

The Vallebrón Protected Landscape is located between the towns of La Oliva and Puerto del Rosario, in the north of the island of Fuerteventura. It is a geomorphological unit representative of the island and of great scenic value. It covers an area of almost 1,680 hectares, which represents 3.5% of the island's protected area. Vallebrón presents a landscape characterised by an elongated ridge with a knife-like relief flanked by two large U-shaped ravines, Valle Largo (Long Valley) and Valle Chico (Small Valley). At the southernmost point of the ridge is the Montaña de la Muda, a place of historical interest as it is home an unusual ancient burial site. To the southwest is the town of Tindaya, flanked by Montaña Quemada, to the south, and Montaña de Tindaya, to the north

Tibataje

The Tibataje Special Nature Reserve, located in the western part of the island of El Hierro, is made up of marine rocks and a large mountain ridge, which rises gradually from sea level and reaches an altitude of just over 1,000 metres. Its slopes bear witness to the coastal erosion processes that caused the coastline to recede, forming part of a rugged landscape of extraordinary biological and scenic value. It is a superb refuge for seabirds and a nesting site for a number of protected species.

San Antonio Volcano Visitor Center

According to its geological age, La Palma is the youngest of the Canary Islands, an archipelago of volcanic origin. Because of this, the island’s history has been troubled by periodic eruptions of the Cumbre Vieja, an active volcanic ridge extending from the El Paso municipality through Fuencaliente, passing through Los Llanos de Aridane. Eruptions in this area were chronicled even before its conquest, which ended in 1496.

Beach Volleyball

Liliana Fernández-Steiner: “Training on the beach is fabulous. The Canary Islands mean quality of life”

Liliana has been crazy about sport since she was young. She realised that beach volleyball was the one for her when she was just 13, but she never imagined that she would be a three-time Olympian, most recently at the Tokyo games with her partner on the sand, Elsa Baquerizo.
She was just 18 when she moved from Benidorm to Tenerife after accepting an invitation from the Arona sports hub and she has been a resident of the island ever since.
