Catch some waves in one of Fuerteventura's best surfing spots

Bristol – Shooting Gallery offers one of the best waves on the island of Fuerteventura, which makes it a very popular choice for surfers. Located just ten minutes from the tourist resort of Corralejo in the north of the island, the spot can be seen from the town itself. There are no buildings or services in the vicinity, but you can park close by without any problems.

A wave with various sections to surf near Corralejo

Bristol-Shooting Gallery, has a left and a right breaking over a volcanic reef, the left is renowned. The wave has various fast sections and can form pristine tubes. The best conditions are around high tide with a N-NE-NW swell. The best waves occur during the winter months but it is surfable all year round. There are several places to enter the water but on days with large swell its best to enter at the end of the wave, where there is a small bay.

Sustainability

- Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats, which pose a serious threat to the fauna.
- Do not throw any waste or other objects into the sea.
- Respect the animals. Do not bother them or feed them. If you see an injured specimen, you can call the emergency number: 112. Do not pick flowers or plants.
- Do not pick up or take away stones or any other item from the natural environment. And do not move them to pile them up into sadly famous 'towers'.
- Try to use ocean- friendly sun creams.
