Izcagua Viewpoint

Feel like you are flying over a ravine

Visiting this viewing point is a unique experience. Visitors are afforded extraordinary panoramic views through the huge panes of glass, letting them feel like they are flying over the Izcagua ravine. This unusual viewing point is located in Puntagorda, in the northwest of La Palma, near the popular farmers’ market and the recreational area of El Fayal, both of which we recommend visiting if you are in this part of the island. The perfect spot for seeing almond groves and vineyards and enjoying the magnificent rural scenery that characterises the geography of La Palma.

View a marvellous rural landscape from above

From this singular viewing point, you can appreciate the great scenic value of the Izcagua ravine, one of the most abrupt in Canary Islands. A must-see for anyone visiting La Palma who wants to discover its special spots. This fabulous tourist attraction, from which you can see how the cliff stretches to infinity, is in an area that is very easy and comfortable to get to for tourists, with pedestrian areas and parking. A spectacular, panoramic viewing point on the edge of a cliff, which allows you to see the utmost extent of the dizzying La Palma landscape from its highest point.

Sustainability
Sostenibilidad
  • Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats, which pose a serious threat to the fauna.
  • Respect the animals. Do not bother them or feed them. If you see an injured specimen, you can call the emergency number: 112. Do not pick flowers or plants.
  • Do not pick up or take away stones or any other item from the natural environment. And do not move them to pile them up into sadly famous 'towers'.
  • Respect and look after the different items of public furniture (information panels, railings, seats, lighting, binoculars and telescopes, etc.).
  • Respect the signposting along trails. Leaving the set paths and spaces causes damage to the environment and could also be dangerous for you and anyone with you.
  • Try not to alter the peace of the environment with excessive noise (loud music, yelling, etc.).
