La Sabinilla Stargazing Viewpoint

Located in the El Parralillo canal, in the foothills of El Viso mountain. A representative point, which intervenes in the routes of the prestigious "Entremontañas Paralelo 28" sports race, celebrated every year in the municipality; from where you will see the valley of La Aldea at your feet. If you raise your hand you can touch the stars. The La Sabinilla Lookout Point is one of the darkest places to enjoy astronomy in the urban environment of the valley of La Aldea. At the foot of the Inagua massif, the stars shine with great intensity and in summer we can enjoy the splendor of the Milky Way. The Degollada de Tasartico will mark the reference point in order to observe the galactic center dominated by the constellations of Scorpius and Sagittarius. In the early morning in spring and during the first half of the night in summer, it will dominate this area of the sky. Astrophotography lovers will experience a magnificent moment to photograph our galaxy perpendicular to the horizon, and crossing the entire sky from the mountain pass.

Sustainability
Sostenibilidad
- Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats, which pose a serious threat to the fauna.
- Respect the animals. Do not bother them or feed them. If you see an injured specimen, you can call the emergency number: 112. Do not pick flowers or plants.
- Do not pick up or take away stones or any other item from the natural environment. And do not move them to pile them up into sadly famous 'towers'.
- Turn off car headlights and do not use torches. That will help minimise the light pollution of the sky.
- If you are at an astronomical viewpoint, respect and look after the different items of public furniture (information panels, railings, seats, lighting, binoculars and telescopes, etc.).
- Try and be silent or talk quietly. The experience will be more enjoyable.
