The best natural pool in La Palma
The Charco Azul in La Palma offers visitors a different, unique way to enjoy the sea. Its popularity has grown following a recent makeover, in fact it was awarded an international prize in 2013 for its new services. Based in San Andrés y Sauces, one of the prettiest boroughs in the north of the island, it's a perfect setting to enjoy a day of sea and sun with the family, in stark contrast to the rich greenery of the nearby laurisilva, a prehistoric forest of great importance.
A pool with excellent services, awarded an 'Ecoplaya' flag
This bathing zone has become one of the best swimming spots thanks to the huge rock pools, protecting bathers from the waves and also the children's pool with a flat bottom, a tiny waterfall, the steps, railings, sunbathing zone, showers and changing rooms, security measures, cleanliness, green areas and parking. No wonder those responsible for the Ecoplaya (green beach) awards gave the prize to this corner of La Palma in 2013.
