El Agujero Natural Pools

A hidden treasure
Located in the municipality of Gáldar, this 150-metre-long beach is one of the island’s hidden treasures. Strong waves make it a favourite among expert surfers, and its natural pools of saltwater of varied depths also make it a paradise for swimming. You’ll find a coastal town by the same name next to the beach.
An authentic, secluded retreat
This coast forms a very real part of the island, where there are virtually no tourists. It stands out as a paradise for swimming and practicing water sports like bodyboarding. There’s also a great promenade next to the beach.

Sustainability
Sostenibilidad
- Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats.
- Do not throw any waste or other objects into the water.
- Respect the animals. Do not bother them or feed them. If you see an injured specimen, you can call the emergency number: 112. Do not pick flowers or plants from the environment.
- Do not pick up or take away stones or any other item from the natural environment. And do not move them to pile them up into sadly famous 'towers'.
- Do not use soap or gel in the showers.
- Try to use ocean- friendly sun creams.
- Try not to alter the peace of the environment with excessive noise (loud music, yelling, etc.) or activities that might be bothersome, such as ball games.
- Pets are prohibited at many natural pools. Make sure you can take them beforehand.
