Located in the historic quarter of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, MUNA – The Museum of Nature and Archaeology occupies the old Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados Civilian Hospital. This beautiful 18th-century property is the perfect setting for immersing yourself in the natural and archaeological heritage of Canary Islands. The permanent exhibition is divided into Archaeology and Natural Sciences, with numerous displays and panels designed for the whole family to enjoy.

Visit a large collection of Guanche mummies

One aspect of Tenerife’s native island culture that you can discover at MUNA – The Museum of Nature and Archaeology is its funeral customs. The museum has a large collection of Guanche mummies that the visitor can learn about in a special room where the latest technologies are used for their conservation. The smallest members of the family will have fun at this museum wandering between life-size models of the different animal species that inhabit Canary Islands.
