Barranco de la Paja

This route is situated on the west coast of Lanzarote and goes in a loop, starting and ending in the well-known Famara.

From the Famara bungalows the route takes you up through the dense green valley of La Paja. This climb is on rather technical trails and is a challenging ascent. Reaching the top you head towards Haria passing the magical Bosquecillo area, the green valley of Haria on easy trails with some more technical parts. It passes the three crests of the del Risco on technical trails and amazingly stunning views. The route then heads towards Haria descending through black sand.

From Haria the route ascends by Camino Real (old stone road) reaching the Las Nieves. From here you have breathtaking views of the Famara and Risco area. Heading back to Famara you pass a fun and fast descent through the valley of Maramajo.This is a complicated but runnable route that leaves you with breathtaking views of the ocean and mountain. Running on nearby cliff edges and through stunning valleys makes the route very exciting.
