Salinas de Antigua

A golf course requiring strategic play near Caleta de Fuste

Salinas de Antigua Golf Club is a golf course that requires a strategic approach to the round because of the effects of surrounding hills and wind. Landscaped with native vegetation there are desert areas, several lakes and volcanic sand bunkers. It also has views of the sea. Designed in 2006 by the double world champion Manuel Piñero, it is adjacent to the resort of Caleta de Fuste, on the east of the island of Fuerteventura.

A golf getaway with a hotel on Fuerteventura

Just eight kilometres from the island’s airport, Salinas de Antigua Golf Club spreads out over 21,450 square metres. It is a links course with large greens and dunes that protect from the wind. Of the 18 holes, the most difficult is the par-4 11th hole, where the ball must be played over the water. Next to the course are two hotels; the four-star Elba and the five-star Sheraton, perfect for a golf break in Fuerteventura.

  • Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats.
  • Use the waste-paper baskets and, insofar as possible, separate and place your recycling waste in the appropriate containers.
  • Use the facilities responsibly, following the centre guidelines.
