South Carolina Gospel Singer

The Teatro Leal presents The South Carolina Gospel Singers, an updated formation of the group F.O.C.U.S. Gospel Singers, known for their involvement in recordings with artists such as God’s Property, Trin-i-tee 5:7, and Hezekiah Walker. Founded in 1997 by Wayne Ravenell, the group originated from the churches of Charleston, South Carolina, and is renowned for its high level in the gospel genre. Composed of a variable number of voices and accompanied by organ/piano, bass, guitar, and drums, the group provides an emotional journey through the history of African American music, from slave chants to contemporary gospel.
