The pilgrimage of San Agustín is a typical Canarian festival celebrated in Arafo on the Saturday before the last Sunday of August. During this event, numerous bands, musical groups, and ox-drawn carts parade through the main streets of the town, creating a lively and festive atmosphere. This celebration, which began in 1975 and was recognized as a "Fiesta of Touristic Interest" in 1982, requires all participants to wear traditional costumes. The main day of festivities includes the solemn transfer of the Pendón from the Town Hall to the parish church of San Juan Degollado in the morning, followed by the "Fiesta de Arte" in the afternoon, a tradition rooted since the early 20th century on the island.
