20 to 21 October
"This musical tells the story of the origins of the witches of the World of Oz, in circumstances that would gradually turn Glinda into the good witch and Elphaba into the bad witch, forcing them to separate and follow different paths. But beyond the magic and the conspiracies, this musical is all about the struggle to overcome. Since she was a child, Elphaba was discriminated against for being different from the rest. The green colour of her skin made others mock and fear her, turning her into a withdrawn and somewhat sullen girl whose dreams are to meet the Wizard of Oz.
This play takes another perspective to tell the events surrounding Dorothy's arrival from Kansas, and touches on issues such as discrimination, racism and female empowerment.
Above all, ""The Witches of Oz"" is a call for true friendship.
