Baile de las libreas de Buenavista

The Baile de las Libreas, an ancestral celebration coinciding with the festivities of La Virgen de la Consolación in El Palmar, fills the village streets with a dance rich in symbolism. Three pairs of male dancers, some dressed as women, perform to the rhythm of tajaraste, accompanied by two flutes, two drums, and the iconic figures of the devil and the she-devil, representing the eternal struggle between good and evil. This dance, originally intended to protect the harvests, culminates in the burning of the fuse carried by the devils, providing the audience with a captivating moment full of tradition.
