7 October to 23 December
The work "Arona" is presented as a scenic piece that pays tribute to the deep heartbeat of the Canary Islands, projecting a contemporary language that respects its roots. This proposal, created by the Compañía Pieles, is not limited to being a folkloric show, but offers a reinterpretation of the Canarian cultural heritage through a sound and bodily architecture where tradition and creation coexist in harmony.
Divided into three main acts, "Arona" explores memory, heritage, and the traditional life of the islands. "El Hogar" evokes intimate gestures and memories of family life, "La Tierra" delves into traditions linked to the countryside and the natural environment, while "La Mar" establishes the deep connection of the islands with the ocean. The staging combines traditional instruments with everyday objects, body rhythms, and an immersive visual experience, creating a unique atmosphere that invites reflection on Canarian identity.
