'La Tuerta', an adaptation of the eponymous novel by María del Mar Rodríguez, is presented at the Teatro Guiniguada in Gran Canaria. This play, directed by Aranza Coello, tells the story of survivors in the harsh context of the post-war era, where women become the protagonists of a silent struggle for dignity and life. Through a brothel, it paints a heartbreaking portrait of a country marked by barbarism and silenced memories, where the phrase "For the children... This is done for the children" resonates as a cry of hope and resistance.
The cast, featuring Aranza Coello, Eduardo Feria, Cristina Hernández Cruz, and Sigrid Ojel, brings to life characters that reflect the multiple facets of the female struggle in a hostile environment. The set design, created by Lucía Salomone, along with an evocative sound space, complements this unique experience that invites reflection on untold stories and the forgotten voices of history. The production, a result of a co-production with Teatro Cuyás, promises to offer a moving evening in an atmosphere that combines art and memory.
