The Teatro Pérez Galdós hosts "Sobremesa", a play that presents an intense reflection on family and the tensions that arise in a context of crisis. Set on Christmas Eve of 2001, the plot revolves around a Christmas dinner where four characters try to maintain appearances while dealing with their own internal conflicts. Graciela, the mother, embodies the struggle for control and frustration, while her daughters, Lena and Silvia, confront their fears and crucial decisions. Tony, the son-in-law, hides a betrayal that complicates the situation even further.
Directed by Mario Vega and written by Irma Correa, Gemma Quintana, and Ruth Sánchez, the production features a talented cast including Griselda Ponce and Marta Viera, among others. The production, which pays homage to the complexities of family relationships, is complemented by lighting and costume design that enhances the atmosphere of the play. "Sobremesa" invites the audience to explore the thin line between truth and appearance in an emotionally charged environment.
