The Teatro Pérez Galdós presents Bar La Resistencia: A Rebel Comedy of Neighborhood, Bar, and Speculation, a play that addresses themes of gentrification and corruption with a humorous approach. The plot unfolds in a city on the verge of passing a controversial ordinance on vacation rentals, dividing the population into two camps: El Bien (Brigade of New Initiatives and Enterprises), which aims to build vacation rental blocks, and El Mal (Free Apartments Movement), which fights against gentrification and rising prices. This comedy explores the struggle for the soul of a neighborhood through a series of conflicts and revelations, offering an ironic perspective on the challenges of real estate speculation and corruption.
