Feast of the Shepherds

The Fiesta de Los Pastores is celebrated in La Dehesa, El Hierro, and is a tradition with roots dating back to 1567. This festival, linked to the island's pastoral life, takes place before the Virgin of Los Reyes, patron saint of El Hierro. In ancient times, it marked the departure from the communal pastures of La Dehesa. Today, it is a tribute to this pastoral heritage, where shepherds joyfully and devoutly celebrate their connection to the land and the Virgin.
