Cycling route in the northwest of G. C.

One of the most demanding mountain passes in the Canary Islands
With its starting and finishing point in the beautiful harbour of Agaete, this circular route along the northwest of Gran Canaria discovers one of the most unspoilt and undiscovered areas of the island. From the very start we are surprised by the Andén Verde road which leads to Aldea de San Nicolás in surrounds dominated by the impressive Faneque cliff and the Tamadaba mountain range, which is home to the oldest pine grove on the island. Without doubt, the perfect warm up before taking on one of the most demanding mountain passes in the Canary Islands.
From road along the dams to El Aserrador
The bike takes us along the road to the dams, an interesting but winding route which brings us close to the heart of the island, to the well-known walls of El Aserrador, with ramps where one can see how little traffic dares to venture along this narrow route. This cycle, which takes us to the centre of the island, leaves behind the towns of Tejeda and Artenara, ravine landscapes, rocks and eroded volcanoes. The return route along the coast goes down to Agaete on quiet minor roads.
