La Rajita Beach

40 metres of peace

Located at the end of a ravine in the municipality of Vallehermoso, and measuring 40 metres by 20 metres, this rocky beach has calm waters. It’s an ideal spot if you want to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist centres. Rajita retains a special charm and is practically virgin. Access is difficult, so occupancy rates don’t exceed 25%, even in high season.

A path by the sea

To access this cove you have to go on foot or by boat. If you want to get there on foot, you need to go along a path of medium difficulty. The route—which takes between an hour and an hour and a half to complete—begins in Playa Palada, in Montaña Pelada.

Sustainability

- Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats.
- Do not throw any waste or other objects into the sea.
- Respect the animals. Do not bother them or feed them. If you see an injured specimen, you can call the emergency number: 112. Do not pick flowers or plants from the environment.
- Do not pick up or take away stones or any other item from the natural environment. And do not move them to pile them up into sadly famous 'towers'.
- Do not use soap or gel in the showers located at the entrance to the beach.
- Try to use ocean- friendly sun creams.
- Pets are prohibited at most beaches. Make sure you can take them beforehand.
- Try not to alter the peace of the environment with excessive noise (loud music, yelling, etc.) or activities that might be bothersome, such as ball games.
