Heredia Beach

A beach for contemplation

Playa de Heredia is located in Valle del Gran Rey which is the second most populated municipality in La Gomera. The beach is only accessible by boat. Also, there are strong waves in the area, so it’s not recommended for swimming. The landscape is fabulous however.

Valle del Gran Rey, the incredible municipality

The municipality of Valle del Gran Rey is located in a beautiful ravine in the west of La Gomera. There is a great offering for visitors. Within the territory there are places such as Arure, Taguluche, and Las Hayas. Although for years agriculture and fishing were the main economic drivers, currently tourism is the most important source of income.

- Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats.
- Do not throw any waste or other objects into the sea.
- Respect the animals. Do not bother them or feed them. If you see an injured specimen, you can call the emergency number: 112. Do not pick flowers or plants from the environment.
- Do not pick up or take away stones or any other item from the natural environment. And do not move them to pile them up into sadly famous 'towers'.
- Do not use soap or gel in the showers located at the entrance to the beach.
- Try to use ocean- friendly sun creams.
- Pets are prohibited at most beaches. Make sure you can take them beforehand.
- Try not to alter the peace of the environment with excessive noise (loud music, yelling, etc.) or activities that might be bothersome, such as ball games.
