Los Canarios Beach

A wild corner in Fuerteventura

This beach has fine white sand and turquoise water. It’s considered one of the wildest in Fuerteventura. This makes it a great place for people to get away from the crowds. Located between Sotavento beach and Esquinzo Butihondo beach, in the municipality of Pájara de la Isla, it’s 500 metres long and 40 metres wide.

A place to get lost

Precisely because of its isolated nature, the beach doesn’t have any amenities, so you should bring provisions if you want to spend the day there. Visitors should note that nudism is common in the area. Scuba divers also frequent the area because of the beautiful seabed.

Sustainability
Sostenibilidad
- Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats.
- Do not throw any waste or other objects into the sea.
- Respect the animals. Do not bother them or feed them. If you see an injured specimen, you can call the emergency number: 112. Do not pick flowers or plants from the environment.
- Do not pick up or take away stones or any other item from the natural environment. And do not move them to pile them up into sadly famous 'towers'.
- Do not use soap or gel in the showers located at the entrance to the beach.
- Try to use ocean- friendly sun creams.
- Pets are prohibited at most beaches. Make sure you can take them beforehand.
- Try not to alter the peace of the environment with excessive noise (loud music, yelling, etc.) or activities that might be bothersome, such as ball games.
