Here you can consult the different prior steps that are needed, depending on where you come from and your chosen accommodation, for you to travel to the Canary Islands. Be aware that at present over 84.3% of our population is vaccinated against COVID-19 (above the average for Europe).

1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR SPAIN (and the Canary Islands):

You can visit the Canary Islands provided you come from the European Union, a country in the Schengen Area or any third country with which Spain has a reciprocity agreement for acceptance of travellers.

It is essential that you consult the conditions of your tour operator or airline before travelling to the Canary Islands.

1.1. IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING FROM THE EU AND SCHENGEN

At present there are no limitations for travelling to the Canary Islands.

No required:

  • EU COVID certificate.
  • Certificate of full vaccination against COVID-19.
  • Negative Diagnostic Test of Active COVID-19 Infection
  • Certificate of recovery
  • Control form

1. 2. IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING FROM THIRD COUNTRIES AND YOU ARE NOT EU CITIZEN

Passengers must meet only one of the following requirements,  accompanying persons under the age of 12 are exempt.:

  1. Certificate of full vaccination against COVID-19.  
  2. Negative Diagnostic Test of Active COVID-19 Infection taken regardless of vaccination status or prior infection. Antigen tests taken a maximum of 24 hours prior to departure to Spain and NAAT tests (PCR, TMA, LAMP) taken a maximum of 72 hours prior to departure to Spain will be accepted.
  3. Certificate of recovery confirming that the holder has recovered from COVID-19, issued at least 11 days after the first positive NAAT test (PCR, TMA, LAMP). The certificate is valid for 180 days

 

In addition, a Diagnostic Test of Active COVID-19 Infection will be required regardless of vaccination status or prior infection, for third countries at high risk only. Antigen tests taken a maximum of 24 hours  prior to departure to Spain and NAAT tests (PCR, TMA, LAMP) taken a maximum of 72 hours  prior to departure to Spain will be accepted. 

1.3. IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING FROM WITHIN SPAIN

At present there are no limitations for travelling to the Canary Islands from anywhere within Spanish territory. As a result, travel between the islands and from the peninsula is possible.

In any case, it is extremely important you check your operator or airline's conditions before traveling to Canary Islands.
