This route is situated on the west coast of Lanzarote and starts in Tinajo. From here dirt tracks lead down to the rugged coast line where the trails become more technical. Passing through the black, lava landscape - like running on charcoal it then ascends up the volcano Caldera Blanca.
From the rim of this volcano the views are spectacular and astounding. In one direction you have views of the volcanoes of Timanfaya National Park and in other direction views of Risco de Famara and the islands of the Chinijo archipelago: La Graciosa, Montaña Clara y Alegranza.
The descent down Caldera Blanca is technical, requiring stepping lightly through the charcoal lava landscape of the Volcano Natural Park. The route ends on sandy trails and takes you back to Tinajo. It runs through spectacular red and black volcano terrain arriving on sandy trails close to the Atlantic coastline. Sea spray and running the rim of a volcano are just some of the highlights to mention on this route.
