A trek through the rich vegetation of Tenerife
The path which links Cruz del Carmen with Punta del Hidalgo includes three very different stretches owing to the plant life in the Anaga Rural Park, in the north of Tenerife. In the first part of the trek, between Cruz del Carboneras, laurel forest is abundant, we then move onto small agricultural allotments until we get to the area of Chinamada. The final stretch of the walk descends to sea level with lots of brushwood in Punta del Hidalgo.
A pathway from the summit to the beach
This ten kilometre long trek with a maximum rise of 916 metres is of average difficulty because of its combination of paths, forest track and some stretches of road. It takes about four hours, wear suitable clothing and footwear for this descent to the coast and take food and liquids. Don’t forget a camera to take photos of the wonderful views over the plains of La Laguna as well as the coast of Anaga from Aguaide viewpoint.
