A Casa José Saramago

The home of a Nobel Prize winner in Tías

"A house made of books": this is how Jose Saramago (winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1988) defined his home in Lanzarote. Now the space has been converted into a house-museum where you can delve into his work and the space in which he lived during the last 18 years of his life. You can enjoy the library with a large collection of books; the garden (his resting place); the bedroom and the galleries, where he wrote the first lines of Blindness. This intimate place can be visited from Monday to Friday between 10:00 am and 1:30 pm.
