Naval Museum

An intense, exciting journey through naval history

The Naval Museum is located inside the Barco de la Virgen—a boat—in the Plaza de La Alameda in Santa Cruz de La Palma, the island´s capital. It is an exact replica of a caravel, made in 1940 for the Descent of the Virgin Procession during the local festivities called the Fiestas Lustrales. From then on, this emblematic space in the city has become one of the most outstanding museums in La Palma. Inside is an important collection of objects from naval history, such as navigational instruments, models and graphic documentation of great historical worth. Five centuries are summed up in an intense, exciting tour.
