An Ideal Route for Family Exploration

The route between the port of Tazacorte and the El Time viewpoint is a short hike suitable for all levels, making it ideal for a family outing. The excursion begins at the port, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim and savor delicious fresh fish, and leads to the viewpoint, offering excellent views of the Llanos de Aridane. The complete route is around 6 kilometers, half if you only do the one-way journey. Every May, thousands of runners traverse this path to fulfill a dream: the Transvulcania.

A Race that Defines La Palma

The Transvulcania is a legendary race and one of the most representative events held in Spain. It is an ultra-marathon that covers the volcanic terrain of La Palma over 74.6 kilometers, with an accumulated elevation gain of 8525 meters. It has been held since 2009 and attracts the participation of numerous international runners. Along the route, participants pass through symbolic points such as Las Deseadas, Refugio del Pilar, El Reventón, Pico de las Nieves, Pico de la Cruz, and Roque de los Muchachos.

Sustainability

- Never leave waste of any type lying around, including cigarette butts. Leftover food leads to a proliferation of rats and wild cats, which pose a serious threat to the fauna.
- Respect the animals. Do not bother them or feed them. If you see an injured specimen, you can call the emergency number: 112. Do not pick flowers or plants.
- Do not pick up or take away stones or any other item from the natural environment. And do not move them to pile them up into sadly famous 'towers'.
- Respect the signposting along trails. Leaving the set paths causes damage to the environment and could also be dangerous for you and anyone with you.
- It is safer to keep your pet on a lead.
- Try not to alter the peace of the environment with excessive noise (loud music, yelling, etc.).
