You can start your trip in Tenerife with an excursion to the Teide National Park which is one of the island’s key landmarks. You will have to organise this part of the trip carefully to maximise the fun. Walks around the Teide national park offer vistas of great natural beauty, and there are many travel companies which provide guided tours with routes to suit the specific needs of tourists. Some visitors to the park chose to climb Mount Teide on foot, but the peak is the highest in Spain at 3715 metres, so, if you haven’t got much time, or you’re worried that you might not be physically fit enough to enjoy the journey,

Some visitors to the park chose to climb Mount Teide on foot, but the peak is the highest in Spain at 3715 metres, so, if you haven’t got much time, or you’re worried that you might not be physically fit enough to enjoy the journey, you might want to take the cable car which reaches pretty close to the top of the mountain. Tickets for the car – which is a very comfortable ride – can be bought online.

San Cristobal de La Laguna is a World Heritage Site thanks to its architecture and beautiful cobbled streets. In the area there are a mixture of colonial and modern houses. Important places to visit include the Cathedral of San Cristobal. Visitors to San Cristobal de La Laguna might also enjoy exploring the wide range of local shops, restaurants, bars, galleries, and museums. La Laguna might have a colonial history, but it is also very much a 21st century cosmopolitan city.

In about a fifteen-minute drive from San Cristobal de La Laguna visitors can arrive to the capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This port city has an historic centre with lively terrace bars. If travellers have a couple of hours to spare, they can walk along la Calle Castillo (Castle Street) to the museum areas, Plaza del Príncipe and Plaza España. If time allows it, visitors might also enjoy strolling around the Tenerife Arts Space, a modern art museum.
