What to do in the Canary Islands in November

November is the perfect month for unwinding and gathering strength before the start of the Christmas festivities. Travelling to the Canary Islands at this time of year makes the winter seem distant, as the average temperature of 24°C and 9 hours of sunlight a day allow you to carry on enjoying the sea, sand and clear skies, even though winter is so close.

The middle of wave season, November is one of the best months for enjoying the surf. Taking your first steps with the help of professionals is a real experience, and one you can enjoy without worrying about whether or not you own a board, as the islands have numerous services for enthusiasts of this sport, including places for hiring equipment and materials.

Strolls along the beach

The pleasant climate of the Canary Islands means you can easily walk by the seashore and take a dip, even in late November. The warm temperatures beckon you to discover the beaches of white, golden or black sand. So when you pack, don’t forget your swimsuit and sunscreen.

For over 30 years now, every November the beach of El Burro, in Fuerteventura, has welcomed hundreds of people who release their kites into the wind, filling the sky with colours in a joyful, relaxed festival that brings together people from all over Europe.
