Romería de San Roque

The Romería de San Roque is celebrated in Garachico, Tenerife. This event brings together decorated carts, traditional music groups, and pilgrims dressed in traditional costumes in a festive procession from the Plaza del Muelle Viejo to the Ermita de San Roque. The pilgrimage honors the saint, protector against epidemics, and commemorates the end of a plague in the 17th century. The week before includes the Fiesta de las Tradiciones, and the day before features a mass and fireworks.
