Los Corazones of Tejina is a unique festival in the Canary Islands, celebrated around August 24th in honor of San Bartolomé, the patron saint of Tejina. This tradition, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest and internationally awarded, features the creation of large heart-shaped structures, 12 meters high and weighing 1000 kg, adorned with flowers, fruits, and branches. These structures represent the three population centers of Tejina and are a symbol of cultural identity. In addition to the display of the hearts, the festival includes activities like a Poetry and Songs Contest, which attracts participants from various regions, and a Story and Drawing Contest aimed at encouraging creativity among young people. Originality and creativity are key elements of this celebration, which combines art, culture, and religious devotion.
