DifrAcción Ensemble

The Contemporary Festival presents the DifrAcción Ensemble in Tenerife, a Canary Islands group with nearly a decade of experience, which has been a witness to and collaborator with the festival in recent years. On this occasion, they will offer a mixed program featuring both Canary Islands and international compositions. The first part of the concert will be dedicated to current music from the islands, including two premieres by Canary Islands composers: Leandro A. Martín with "Tal traje saliva" and Gustavo Díaz-Jerez with "Yajna," as well as an ensemble version of "Like a tiny drop of dew" by Laura Vega. The final session will consist of 20th-century works, including "Abîme des oiseaux" by Olivier Messiaen, "Clichés d’adieu et un sourire" by Tristan Murail, and "Drawing" by Toshio Hosokawa. The entire program will be conducted by José María de Vicente.
